Mini Rings of Change Week 10 and Starts #57-59

We had some electrical and internet problems yesterday. Hopefully, it'll work today.
The snow was nice on Wednesday; by Wednesday night, it was all melted. The two inches we got yesterday wasn't so nice. I'm ready for spring.
Okay, I'm done complaining. Can you believe we're almost done with our Mini Rings of Change CAL? It's been so fun. All the blankets and rugs are beautiful; it's amazing how different they all look.
I didn't quite get my rounds done this week; I just started round 34.
My fellow CAL stitchers have been hard at work.
Linda of Stitchin With My Furbabies
Linda of Linda's Crafty Corner
Jacqui
We only have 8 more rounds to go!
Let's do rounds 35-37 this week. If all goes according to plan, we should be finishing the week of March 20.
Is anyone interested in a follow-up CAL? Designer Frank O'Randle has a few other delightful patterns including the Mini Spirals of Change.
Let me know if you'd like to make this blanket as a CAL; we'd be starting in early April.

Here are my last three starts for February for the SDUCJFC; starting tomorrow, it changes to the Debbie's Insane Super Duper Ultimate Crazy January February March Challenge  (DISDUCJFMC). I'll have 31 new starts for March, one a day. Almost all of them will be on the small side; I have more than enough large charts started.
All three of these are freebies from Kincavel Krosses. If you'd like the charts, just click on the titles.
 #58: Amazing
I usually stick to light colors for my fabric because I have trouble with my vision. I had the black already in my stash from long ago. Tim bought me a big magnifying light for my birthday, so that's the only way I'm able to stitch on the black.
It's cold and covered with ice outside, so it's a perfect stitchy, hooky day.
Thanks for reading and looking.
Blessings :-)

Snow, Smalls SAL, Stashbuster #3 and Starts #55-56

We woke up to falling snow this morning.
So we took advantage of the situation and ran outside to play. Hope and I made a couple of snowmen.
Alex joined in the fun. She thought the snow not only felt interesting but also warranted a taste.
But we're true Florida wimps at heart. We only played outside for a little while. We decided it was nicer inside with some hot chocolate.
Wet clothes were changed and slippers were put on. Hope's wearing her new ones I made for her on Monday.
I used Red Heart Super Saver in Light Blue and Grape Fizz. I used this pattern and I'm linking up with the February Stashbuster Link Party at Linda's Crafty Corner.
Today's the check-in for the Smalls SAL hosted by Heather of Stitching Lotus. I already showed my finish on Monday, but here it is again with the link to the free chart by Erica Michaels on Rainbow Gallery. There are a lot of free charts on this page, so just scroll on down to find the square monthly charts.
And here are starts #55-56 for the SDUCJFC. They're both free charts from Kincavel Krosses; you can click on the titles and it will take you to the site.
I'll be joining Linda of Stitchin With My Furbabies in continuing my starts through March. I just have too many charts I want to stitch. Most of my March starts are fairly small, so I should be able to finish a number of them this year.
Thanks for reading and looking.
Blessings :-)

SFS February, IHSW, New Yarn and Starts #52-54

It's check-in time for Stitch From Stash hosted by Epic Stitching. I spent more this month but have two finishes to count.
Month: February 2015
Spent: $29
Earned: $8
Total: $21

My two finishes are my smalls for January and February.

I bought two charts
Calvin and Hobbes Making Faces from Hornswoggle Store

and Hooties 12 Days of Christmas from PinoyStitch

and I bought some Aida fabric.

I enjoyed my first IHSW hosted by Random Ramblings. I was able to finish my smalls SAL early as well as make progress on three charts.
I worked on start #46 the most, Calendar Girls January from Little House Needleworks.
I started out here:
and ended up here:
I worked on one of my Turtle Trot pieces, and I worked on the Castle SAL I'm doing with Linda for A New Stitchy Start.
Here's where I was last week:
and where I am now:
I honestly didn't think I would be able to make as much progress as I did. Our church had a yard sale Saturday morning, I had a jewelry show Saturday night, and I spent half of Sunday sleeping off a bad cold.

I'm also making progress on start #14, Socks and Underwear by Lizzie Kate.
Here's where I was when I started:

and where I am now:
Today, we woke up to this.

Since we homeschool, we rarely take days off due to bad weather, but I made an exception today. It's a good day to curl up with some yarn and hooks. I have a couple of pairs of slippers to make, a scarf to finish, and a couple of blankets to start for new babies being born into the family.
When I was at Walmart buying groceries, I wandered over to the yarn aisle (of course) and found this delightful new color.
It's called Panther Pink. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, but I had to have it.
Wherever you are, I hope you're happy and warm.
Thanks for reading and looking.

Mini Rings of Change CAL Week 9 and Starts #50-51

I took advantage of baby nap time and tween school time this morning and got caught up with my blanket.
Rounds 26-29
Round 30
Here are some progress pics from our other stitchers, including our newest, Jacqui:

I'll be updating the CAL page this weekend with any pictures I missed. If you're behind, don't worry about it. This isn't a race to the finish. We're just enjoying the drive.
For this week, let's do rounds 31-34. Round 31 is similar to round 30. Linda posted a tip today about rounds 30 and 31 curling, but don't worry about it. It will flatten out as you keep stitching.

I have two more starts for the Super Duper Ultimate Crazy Challenge:
I'm participating in the International Hermit and Stitchers Weekend today, tomorrow and Sunday.

My goal is to make as much stitching progress as possible over the next two days. Today, I finished my Smalls SAL for the month, and I've started working on start #14, Socks and Underwear by Lizzie Kate. I'll post pics on Monday.
Have a safe weekend and stay warm!
