Five on Friday: Five Things I'm Working On

I have been so flighty and indecisive today! I'm all over the place more than usual. But here are five things I've been working on this week:

1. Getting caught up on laundry, dishes, and other household chores. I was down most of last week with a bad fibro flare, and I was down most of this week with a bad cold. There are a lot of clean laundry piles around the house waiting to be folded and put away, more piles of dirty laundry, and so on.

2. Motifs for my mystery crochet projects. You can find the free pattern here at Signed With an Owl. 

So far, I'm using Dark Orchid, Spring Green, and Shocking Pink.

3. Printing charts, cutting fabric, and making lists for next years's SALs. 

4. More motifs for my mystery crochet projects. They look like eggs now, but I promise you they won't in the end! You can see what they'll look like at Color 'n Cream Crochet. So far, I'm using Bright Yellow and Soft White.

5. And, of course, I have more starts! I actually have more than this, but I had these out to photograph for a SAL. These are my first Heaven and Earth Designs, my first time parking, and my first time gridding. I'm having a blast!

WIP Wednesday: Crochet and Cross Stitch

I've been working on various projects over the last week, both crochet and cross stitch.

I've added a double granny round in black to 21 of my rose squares and started attaching them with Panther Pink using the flat braid join. The pattern is designed by Astri of Apple Blossom Dreams and is available for sale in her Etsy shop.

I pulled out a poor neglected UFO and started assembling it. The pattern is designed by Kate of Signed With an Owl. I made the squares with Red Heart Super Saver in Zebra and Black, Loops and Threads Impeccable in Gray, and I'm joining them as I go with Red Heart Super Saver in Burgundy. Two rows done, four to go.

I started two "just because" stashbuster projects using the Diagonal Granny Stripe pattern from Zooty Owl's Crafty Blog. The first one is made with scraps and a J hook; the second is made with Lion Brand Homespun in Corinthian and an L hook.

And I'm working daily on several mystery crochet projects. Here are some of the motifs.

I'm very close to a finish on my Prairie Schooler Santa's 12 Days of Christmas Day 1. I still hope to completely finish it by the end of the month for the Christmas Ornament SAL hosted by Kaye of Kitten Stitching.

I did a couple more letter blocks in Summer Alphabet by Lizzie Kate; this was my rotation piece for the last five days.

And I started several more charts "just because".

Random Things

I've been in a lot of pain this week, so my computer time has been minimal. Today's not so great, either, but I feel bad for neglecting the blog.

I wanted to talk about comments for a minute. I love each and every one from all of you and read them with excitement. I've started replying to them through email instead of through the reply feature because it seems more people get my responses. But that raises a problem with "no reply comment" bloggers, and there are a lot of you! I love reading all of your comments, too, but I'm not able to reply to them. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to do that.

I've been making scrunchies for Hope. You can find the free pattern here from Suzies Stuff. From top to bottom, left to right, I used Red Heart Panther Pink, I Love This Yarn Autumn Stripe, Red Heart Grape Fizz, and Red Heart Painted Desert.

 I'm slooowwly working on the Corner to Corner Afghan for my new nephew due in June. I'm finally on the decrease half so, hopefully, that will be finished soon. I haven't decided yet if I want to add a border.

I'm working an on annoying project today. I've needed to do it for awhile but keep putting it off. And it gets worse every time I buy floss. I'm hoping to wind at least a quarter of the box today.
I received a surprise package in the mail Friday. It was from Preeti of Creat-E-witty Unleashed. I opened it to discover some delightful goodies:

Y is for... and Smalls SAL

Pretty Little New YORK by Satsuma Street on Etsy. I love stitching these cities.

And Y is for
YO-YOs! I still love to make these from little bits of scrap yarn leftover from projects. To date, I've made three blankets and probably am close to having enough yo yo's to make a fourth. I use 500 per blanket, so they come out about 4' x 5'. You can find the pattern here.

I finished up a little Lizzie Kate freebie for this month's Smalls SAL hosted by Heather of Stitching Lotus.

ROUND Crocheted Blankets
I love that blankets don't have to be square. I made a few round ones last year.

These two are the same pattern, a free round ripple pattern that's not available online anymore. I'm glad I have a printed copy. The top one is Alex's, and the bottom one was donated.

Baby RABBITS!!

 

We discovered the nest last Wednesday (unfortunately because the dog found it first and got two of them) and have been keeping an eye on it ever since. Lots of research has taught us mama rabbit comes twice a day to feed them, she doesn't mind us touching them, and they'll be leaving the nest in another week or two (hard to believe as they are still tiny enough to fit in the palm of your hand and don't have their eyes open). It's absolutely amazing to see them progress from day to day.
