Mini Rings of Change CAL Week 12: Mistake in Round 40!

I just started round 40 this morning and discovered a mistake. It was corrected on the pattern on January 28, but if you printed off the pattern in December like I did, you might have missed the update.

If you've already done round 40 and came up with 300 trebles, I'm so sorry! That's a lot of frogging. The round should have 270 trebles (30 groups of 9); you have to reprint page 7 of the pattern to get the correct stitch combination.

Turtle Trot Time and Starts 65-68

It's the 10th of the month, so it must be Turtle Trot Time! This is being hosted by Claudette of BAP Attack. We pick 10 projects to work on and post progress pics each month. I missed the check in last month, so these show two months of stitching.
I came up with a good rotation schedule, so I managed to work on all 10 this month:

1. Roly Poly February

 

 I stitched most of the arms and most of the backstitching on the body.

2. Roly Poly March

 

I stitched the paws and the muzzle.

3. Roly Poly April

 

 I stitched more of the raincoat.

4. Roly Poly August

 

I stitched the rest of the white section and half of the right side blue.

5. Roly Poly September

 

I stitched a little bit more of the left side blue and some of the brown center.

6. Brown Trotter

 

I stitched more of the body and started stitching one of the legs.

7. God So Loved the World

 

I stitched more of the sky.

8. Lid Up

 

I stitched more of the tank and started stitching the bowl.

9. Next Trick

 

I finished stitching the toilet paper.

10. Sunflower Seeds

 

I stitched the box at the bottom and part of the inner border.

I'm finally getting tired of doing new starts, but I'm going to stick it out for the month.

Mini Rings of Change Week 11 and YOTA

As always, I'm behind. I made it through round 35. I'm determined to get caught up this weekend!

I can see the end in sight! It sure has been a fun CAL, and I'm so happy with my pretty blanket. And I've really enjoyed seeing all the lovely creations made by everyone else. Don't forget, we'll be staring the Mini Spirals of Change in early April if you want to join us. So far, we have Linda, Carla, Tama and myself along for the ride.

Let's do rounds 38-40 this week. That'll leave just the last two rounds for the following week. Of course, if you just can't resist, go ahead and finish early so turtle crocheters like me can see the beautiful finished product!

It's time for the YOTA (or Year of the Acronym) check in. This is being hosted by Pull the Other Thread. I'm working on the Cluttered chart from the 2003 issue of Cross Country Stitching magazine. I missed last month's check in, so this is two months of progress.

This and That and More Starts

Wow, has it really been almost a week since my last post? I've spent most of that time on the couch on a heating pad; I've been having trouble with back pain again. Today's the first day I can move around freely without heating patches and can sit at the computer for an extended period of time. Poor Tim's been home with a severe throat infection most of the week. He's much better today, too.

We got another 3 inches of snow last night. 

Can you see where the dogs have been?

I'm grateful Texas snow is here one day and gone the next (or sometimes the same day). It's already starting to melt.

I have two other projects on my hook right now besides the Mini Rings of Change blanket and 2015 blanket. I'm working on a corner to corner afghan for my new nephew who's due in June.

I'm using a J hook and Red Heart Super Saver in Soft Navy and Delft.

And I'm making a Cowl Neck Poncho for myself; I'm always cold in the house.

Right now, I'm using a K hook and Red Heart Super Saver in Cherry for the cowl part. I have another 6 rounds to do before I start the body of the poncho. Then I'll switch to a J hook, but I'm not sure what color yarn.

I've been continuing with my starts for Debbie's Insane Super Duper Ultimate Crazy January February March Challenge, but I also have progress on three of my starts from January and February.
