Shock, Sadness, Fear

I borrowed the title from Kathryn of Crochet Concupiscence because it says it all. The stitching community has lost a beloved designer, Wink of A Creative Being. She was so beautiful and sweet and wonderful. As a fellow navigator of the dark depths of depression, I was hit hard by the news that she lost her battle last week.

Her sister posted the news today; just click on the link above.

Kathryn posted a beautiful tribute post today; again, just click the link.

I don't have anything else to say.

  2. Sending love and support your way. It's a tough time for all of us. I hope that the project I've created, #MandalasForMarinke (on Crochet Concupiscence), can be a way for people to channel their feelings while honoring her life and work.

    HUGS.

  3. That's so sad. Sending love to her family. It was great she inspired so many people. I didn't know her since I don't crochet but she seemed like such an uplifting person from the few posts I read. I hope you're doing well with your depression. If not I'd be happy to be a sounding board :) Hugs.

  4. Soo, soo sad... It is difficult for 'healthy' people to understand how depression can take over your life, even though it may look as if you have plenty to live for... I sometimes struggle to find reasons to live, but thankfully I have filled my life with dogs, crafts and blogs so hopefully I can keep the shadows away...

  5. That's so sad. I have been through deep depression and even now I fight with some form which I struggle daily to keep it away from me. My husband is being helpful in my fight.
