Five on Friday: Five Random Thoughts

I forgot to do this last week, so I'm squeezing this in late in the afternoon, and I'm linking up with Amy at Love Made My Home.

My five random thoughts of the week:

1. We ate at Chick-fil-A for lunch today. I love their food, but I wish they were open on Sundays. But at the same time, I love their reasons for being closed on Sundays and really admire them for it.

2. Same goes for Hobby Lobby.

3. When it comes to crocheting, I much prefer to do piece-work when making blankets rather than making one big blanket. I don't like to whipstitch, but I love to join-as-you go.

4. I think I'm ready to expand my horizons with cross stitching. I'd like to try beading, working with floss other than DMC, and stitching on evenweave.

5. I'm bummed we didn't have a peach harvest this year. I blame the rain.

Thanks for reading!
Blessings :-)

  8. Thank you for sharing your thoughts Kate it's nice to know what everyone is thinking. I like to make all kinds of blankets so that I can do a bit of each or I will et bored, I hate all methods of joining but don't mind when I do it a bit at a time. It will be fun to try new cross stitching techniques I say go for it. Have a great weekend. :) xx

  9. I think you better finish all your other projects before you start branching out. Ha! :) I can't seem to get the join as you go method. I've started several large grannies that may or may not get finished at some point in time. I did finish a baby giant granny and it turned out really nice. I'm always afraid anything I join together is going to come apart at some point. But I guess that happens with something that might get constant use. Have a great 4th. Tammy

  12. I agree about Hobby Lobby, but I've never eaten at Chick Fil A... I should broaden my eating horizons, lol!!!
Evenweave is easy after the first few stitches; just gotta practice counting! And starting in the right place :D I want to try beading, too - I have a Mirabilia project I'm getting back out soon and I will HAVE to bead on it!!!

  13. Miribilia and Joan Elliot designs use beads! I love them but haven't done any yet. Good luck!
