Two Tuesday

Two Things I'm Grateful For:

1. Catching fireflies with Tim and Hope. I think this should be a rite of passage for all children; there's just something magical about it. But we never had them where we lived in Florida. Over the last week, our back yard has lit up around dusk with dozens of fireflies. We've all taken turns catching and releasing them. Well, not the dogs; they're intent on eating them!

2. Anxieties about the Bean put to rest. At our last ultrasound, we found out she has a two vessel umbilical cord. Most babies have three, two arteries and a vein. The Bean only has one artery and one vein in her cord. The tech spent a long time looking at every angle and body part to see if there were any complications. She didn't see any, but she wanted the doctor to double check. Yesterday, he let us know the scan looked good and he didn't see any problems. They'll probably do an ultrasound on her after she's born to check her kidney functions (a known complication with two-cord babies), but he really didn't think there would be any trouble because it would have shown up on the scan. Thank you, Lord :-)

Two Patterns I Think Are Neat:

This is a really pretty border; I'm eager to try it on a couple of my WIPs when I finish them.

This looks like a great stashbuster for bulky yarn. I may have to stitch one quickly; I spend a lot of nights sleeping on the couch sitting up. It's one of the few positions right now that I can sleep comfortably.

Thanks for reading.
Blessings :-)

  1. All my babies were two cord..three daughters..and no problems at all. The youngest is 27 with babies of her own. I hope this puts your mind at ease. Many hugs
