WIP Wednesday

It's been raining for two days. Other than the dogs driving me crazy because they can't go outside and play, I've enjoyed it. Lots of nice hooky time.
I always have tons of projects on my hooks, too many some days. I just can't be happy crocheting or stitching one or two things. This week's focus is on my doily (just finished round 27!!), a blanket for Alex, and a shawl.
I started this blanket for Alex just before she was born. I finished all the squares (pattern here at Dly's Hooks and Yarns) and joined them using the flat braid method (excellent tutorial here) back in August, but the border has been taking forever.
I wanted something really unique, so I pulled out my copy of Around the Corner by Edie Eckman. This is border #7. When I started, I fell in love with the look and never stopped to think about how long it would take to complete. Each curl has over 50 stitches! It'll be gorgeous when it's done and well worth it (at least, that's what I tell myself!).
My other focus this week is the Cozy Comfort Prayer Shawl for a lady at church; she's had some health problems and been in and out of a nursing home lately. Our ladies ministry adopted her and I offered to make her a prayer shawl. It works up quickly using the Diagonal Box Stitch (or Crazy Stitch as it's sometimes called), a bulky weight yarn, and a K hook.

Here's my daily pic for the November Photo a Day Challenge:

At 8:00 this morning, I was curled up on the couch under my cozy Yo Yo Blanket (pattern here), watching Netflix and waiting for Hope to finish her chores so we could start school.

Thanks for reading and looking.
Blessings :-)

  5. Very nice projects. I like the border on the blanket. I've done a similar thing to scarves.
